NEWS

Action figures from Bandai’s fall Power Rangers toy line have begun to surface in retail stores. Earlier this year, The Power Rangers Samurai Times reported that these figures would also be available from online retailers such as Big Bad Toy Store, and Amazon.com. The fall line consists of the Gold Ranger in Mega Mode, the Red, Blue, Green, and Gold Rangers in their standard style, Deker, and Rita Repulsa from Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers. In addition to the action figures, new zords and a Gold Ranger Morpher have been released as well.

The Power Rangers Samurai Times was able to procure cases of action figures from the fall line, and can confirm the following information. First, different “waves” of figures are denoted by a letter following the assortment number; the assortment number for Power Rangers Samurai‘s four inch figures is 31500. Cases numbered 31500A, 31500B, and 31500C were part of the spring line. Case 31500D is the first case from the fall line; it contains three Red “Fire” Samurai Rangers, three Gold “Light” Samurai Rangers, two Blue “Water” Samurai Rangers, two Green “Forest” Samurai Rangers, and one Evil Deker and Rita Repulsa per case for a total of 12 figures. Case 31500E is the second case from the fall line; it contains three Gold “Light” Mega Rangers, (Mega Mode,) three Red “Fire” Samurai Rangers, three Blue “Water” Samurai Rangers, two Green “Forest” Samurai Rangers, and one Pink “Sky” Mega Ranger for a total of 12 figures as well.

The Power Rangers Samurai Times will continue to keep track of the contents of Case 31500F, and Case 31500G as they become available to us. Power Rangers Samurai figures should be available in most major retailers, and through online distributors. Furthermore, you can check out the new section of The Power Rangers Samurai Times called Backpage, which will have links to the Editor–in–Chief’s eBay auctions of surplus Samurai figures. Once the Backpage section is gone though, so are all of the figures that were for sale there.

UPDATE: We can now confirm that Case 31500G contains three Gold “Light” Mega Rangers, three Red “Fire” Samurai Rangers, two Blue “Water” Samurai Rangers, one Green “Forest” Samurai Ranger, one Yellow “Earth” Mega Ranger, one Evil Deker, and one Rita Repulsa for a total of 12 figures per case.

NEWS

The Official Power Morphicon forum has announced that pre–registration will begin on September 23rd, 2011; the convention was officially announced for the weekend of August 17–19, 2012 earlier this year. The Power Rangers Samurai Times initially held off on reporting this information in the hopes of being able to report it with a guest list, but rather then continue to delay the announcement, we decided that we’d bring our readers a guest list when one became available.

Power Morphicon is a fan run Power Rangers convention, initially held in Los Angles, California, and later held in Pasadena, California; it is not run by Saban Brands. With permission from Disney, the first Power Morphicon was held in the summer of 2007 in celebration of the show’s 15th season. A follow up convention was planned for 2009, but delayed until 2010 to coincide with the 15th anniversary of Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers: The Movie. The third Power Morphicon will be the first held since the show has moved to Nickelodeon, and Power Rangers Samurai has premiered. Additional details will be provided as they become available, but those interested in the convention should check out its official website at www.officialpowermorphicon.com.

Today, Sunday August 28, 2011, officially marks the beginning of the 18th year of Power Rangers‘; if Power Rangers were a person, today would be its 18th birthday. This is a rarity; most shows only last a few years, and Power Rangers was nearly canceled on more then one occasion, in addition to actually being canceled in 2009. This is a rather remarkable milestone for the show, and those of us here at The Power Rangers Samurai Times would simply like to say, Happy Birthday Power Rangers!
